In accordance with its mandate, the ETH Board is responsible for submitting a proposal to the Federal Council for the election of the presidents of the federal institutes of technology (ETH Zurich and EPFL) and the directors of the research institutes (PSI, WSL, Empa and Eawag).

President of ETH Zurich
to succeed the current president, whose term of office will end in December 2026. In accordance with its mandate, the ETH Board is responsible for proposing a candidate for this position to the Swiss Federal Council.

Requirements
You have an internationally distinguished scientific track record in a core area of ETH Zurich. As an experienced leader in an academic or research organisation, you can shape and lead the strategic development of ETH Zurich, aiming to further strengthen its scientific excellence in research and education, reinforcing its position as a globally leading university, and nurturing a positive institutional culture. You are able to identify and foster outstanding individuals and visionary ideas, and set priorities on scientific, technological, sustainability-related, and societal issues. Additionally, you have proven participative management skills and fund-raising abilities. You are committed to developing ETH Zurich’s future and to jointly shape the entire ETH Domain.
You possess excellent social and negotiation skills, along with an inspiring presence that allows you to bring people together. You are committed to promoting respect and diversity as well as to creating an inclusive work environment. You champion integrity, build trust and constructively handle conflicts.
You understand Switzerland’s political structures, legislative processes and cultural diversity. You have a strong network both within the scientific community and outside of it. Moreover, you are interested in cooperating with Swiss and international academic, economic and philanthropic partners. You have a proven ability to communicate, supported by an excellent command of German and English, and preferably have working knowledge of French.
Ideally, you are willing to hold office for at least two terms (i.e. eight years), and could assume this position at the beginning of 2027.

Zur Verstärkung des Internen Audits des ETH-Bereichs suchen wir eine/n erfahrene/n
Interne/n Auditor/in 80 – 100 % (m/w/d)
In dieser Funktion führen Sie risikobasierte Revisionen in allen Institutionen des ETH-Bereichs, von der Planung bis zur Berichterstattung. Sie beurteilen dabei u.a. die Governance, die Prozesse und die internen (finanziellen und nicht-finanziellen) Kontrollen und tragen dank Ihres globalen Verständnisses der für den ETH-Bereich und seine Institutionen inhärenten Risiken zur laufenden Verbesserung der Effektivität und der Effizienz bei, mit dem Ziel, optimale Rahmenbedingungen für die Erbringung von hochqualitativer Lehre und Spitzenforschung zu schaffen.
Sie denken und handeln lösungs- und dienstleistungsorientiert, schätzen den Kontakt mit internen und externen Kunden und sind ein/e absolute/r Teamplayer/in. Ein aktiver Informationsaustausch mit Ihren Kolleg/innen ist für Sie genauso selbstverständlich wie Diplomatie und die Fähigkeit, zuhören zu können. Dank Ihres exzellenten analytischen Denkvermögens sind Sie in der Lage, komplexe Situationen zu meistern und Ihre Schlussfolgerungen klar, verständlich und adressatengerecht sowohl mündlich als auch schriftlich zu formulieren. Deutscher oder französischer Muttersprache können Sie sich fliessend in der anderen Landessprache sowie in Englisch verständigen.
Sie verfügen über einen Universitäts-/Fachhochschulabschluss oder eine gleichwertige Ausbildung und sind idealerweise Inhaber/in des CIA- oder CISA-Zertifikats bzw. des eidg. Diploms als Wirtschaftsprüfer/in. Darüber hinaus können Sie bereits eine mehrjährige Berufserfahrung in der internen oder externen Revision vorweisen. Sie kennen sich mit neuen Technologien aus und nutzen diese gezielt und gewinnbringend in Ihrer täglichen Arbeit.
